About me

Xin Kai holds a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Western Australia. His experience in the landscape industry includes works at landscape consultancies, design and horticultural management at Changi Airport and also, as Landscape Architect in the National Parks Board Singapore. He was involved in various landscape projects, from the masterplanning of parks, such as the Jurong Lake Gardens Masterplan, the National Cycling Plan, the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Friendship Garden, to the design & implementation of garden projects, including heritage and community gardens, festive displays at Changi Airport and Singapore Garden Festivals.
In recent years, Xin Kai has been specialising in the design and implementation of Therapeutic Gardens in community and healthcare facilities. This led to an interest in research and design of landscapes that exhibits the therapeutic effects of natural elements. In particular, he has been studying the attributes of various types of oriental gardens that promote the mental well being of people. Besides being a full-time Landscape Architect, he is also currently pursuing a Certificate in Horticultural Therapy from the University of Florida.
